Dear Mr. Denning,
Re: Reasonable Man
I am writing to respond to your posting for a Reasonable Man. Your posting outlined criteria that correspond with my educational and personal background. As a result, I believe that I am very qualified to assume the position of the Reasonable Man.
Although I am not average, I make very good decisions. Most people seem to think that whatever I do under any given circumstance is justified. Even my inaction is usually considered to be perfectly sensible. I do understand that you are looking for a man and that I do not meet this requirement. However, modern-day standards have generally changed this term to encompass a reasonable ‘person’ rather than just a male. And I have many other points in my favour; for example, I rode the Clapham omnibus a few times, and fellow passengers agreed that I was mostly agreeable. I have not chosen to take on any specialties and choose to live my life in a void of no particular profession, living in no particular place, and with no particular affiliations. I would continue to do this if chosen to be the Reasonable Man.
The way I see it, Mr. Denning, I could be the solution to your elusive search for the Reasonable Man. Help me help you turn your legal fiction into reality.
Yours truly,
Bhuvana Sankaranarayanan
