University of Ottawa dominates the recruit
At least 47 students secured summer positions through the Ottawa Summer 2022 2L Recruit. University of Ottawa dominated the recruit, securing 31 positions, which represents 66 percent of total summer positions. Queen’s University and McGill University followed, securing seven positions each which make up approximately three and four percent of their class sizes respectively.
Amongst participating firms, Borden Ladner Gervais LLP led the pack and offered 12 students 2L positions in their Ottawa office, two of which are returning 1L students. Gowling WLG followed closely, hiring 11 students. Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP hired seven students. Notably, seven percent of total positions were secured by students from outside Ontario and Canada.
