The 2023–24 recruit sees a significant increase in the number of participating employers and students hired
The Toronto 2023–24 Articling Recruit saw an increase in participating employers compared to last year’s cycle. 65 employers responded to this year’s survey, reporting a total of 139 students hired—a notable increase from the 52 students placed at the 48 participating employers last year. A few employers reported that they continue to send offers on a rolling basis. Similar to last year, Osgoode Hall Law School students secured the most positions with 23 hires. U of T Law followed with 21 students and the University of Ottawa Faculty of Law came in third with 19 students securing articling positions.
Editor’s Note:
The 65 participating employers represented a 61 percent response rate. The remaining employers did not wish to participate in the survey or did not respond in time for publication.
Ultra Vires previously reported in the print edition that the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF) hired eight articling students. This was incorrect. The OSSTF hired one articling student. All numbers have been changed accordingly. We apologize for the error.
