1L Editors (4)
We have four open slots and to apply, just send us a statement of interest (about 250 words) and resume. No experience is necessary and we will go over our style guide with you should you be selected and brief you on how we usually edit the paper. The time commitment for 1L Editors would be to attend our monthly lunchtime pitch meetings as well as our editing meetings on the third or fourth Friday of every month. (Timing is subject to change, depending on the circumstances.) The editing meetings usually run about 5 to 6 hours and involves all the editors working together to finalize the upcoming issue.

Ultra Vires is on Twitter (@ultravires), Facebook (@uoftultravires) and Instagram (@ultravires.ca). We would like to be more active on social media this year, and need two 1Ls to join our social media team, to help develop and implement a consistent strategy. Please send us a statement of interest (about 250 words), including thoughts on what we can do with our social media accounts going forward. The time commitment for this depends on the strategy we adopt, and schedules are flexible.
Photographers (3)
Photographers will be responsible for capturing moments from student life at the Faculty of Law. It might be photos of an event you were already planning on attending, or snapshots of life around campus. You do not need a fancy camera, phone photography works just fine if the image quality is good. This is a very flexible position, and you will get photo creds. Just send us some samples of your work.
Writers
Anyone can write for us! We highly recommend attending our monthly pitch meetings (dates TBD), where you will be able to pitch your ideas, or pick up an article that someone else has suggested. Alternately, reach out whenever inspiration strikes, or when you come across some spicy information. No need to send in an application for this, we’re looking forward to seeing you at a pitch meeting!
